A warm welcome to all Kenyon parents, both current and prospective.
Dear Current or Prospective Parent,
On behalf of the Kenyon Parents Advisory Council, welcome to the Kenyon community! We are honored and privileged to serve as Co-Chairs of the Parents Advisory Council (PAC) – the executive body of the Kenyon Parents Association, providing an active forum for discussion among College administrators and parents. PAC also provides financial support to the Kenyon Parents Fund which this year enjoyed record-breaking parent participation.
We knew from the start that Kenyon College was the right fit for our son. As an Economics major, he has thrived. With a small group of entrepreneurially-minded classmates, he co-founded the first late night food concession on campus, secured a summer internship in the finance department of a major media company, and runs cross country for Kenyon. He maintains close relationships with faculty who inspire him to take risks, venture out, and follow his passions.
But, what we didn’t anticipate is how meaningful and rewarding our son’s college experience would be for us. Over the last three years, we have played an active role in both PAC and the Kenyon Parents Fund. We are gratified to collaborate with fellow parents, faculty and administrators to fulfill one singular mission: to ensure that our students receive the highest caliber Liberal Arts College experience.
Kenyon is a close-knit, warm community that draws us closer to one another and to our students especially when you become involved in programs and activities that support Kenyon. Each October, parents are invited to Family Weekend, where you can choose from various activities: attending classes, concerts and drama productions, athletic events, and reception with faculty. You are also encouraged to join PAC’s meetings that take place during Family Weekend. You can make a unique contribution to Kenyon – whether speaking to prospective parents or providing career-counseling to upperclassmen, or supporting Regional Parent Volunteer efforts.
We hope to have the opportunity to meet each of you and that you will consider us as an ongoing resource for you and your family. Wishing you a fulfilling and successful academic year!
