Biophysics Instrumentation

The discipline of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology has modern equipment providing the resources necessary for contemporary research in Protein Chemistry and Molecular Biology. Besides the standard equipment, the discipline has several core facilities.

The Biophysics Instrumentation Facility includes a SLM 8000C three channel photon counting spectrofluorometer with stopped-flow, Jasco 715 spectropolarimeter, HP8452A diode array spectrophotometer, Biosensor Biolite (Pharmacia), Protein Solutions light scattering instrument, Kodak Gel Logic 100 Imaging System as well as a MicroCal differential scanning and isothermal calorimeter. We also have a Precision Detectors dynamic light scattering instrument and TECAN Genios microplate reader.
