Adam E. Fleischer, DPM
Dr. Fleischer is board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh (BS) and the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), and holds an MPH degree in Epidemiology/Biostatistics from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Dr. Fleischer is active in several university committees. He is serving as the faculty representative on the RFU Board of Trustees and has served as the Chair of the RFUMS Institutional Review Board, RFUMS Compensation Committee, Scholl College Academic Assembly, and Scholl College Swanson Independent Scholar Committee. He is also active in a variety of professional organizations including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons where he serves on the Research/EDM Committee, the American Podiatric Medical Association serving on the Clinical Practice Advisory Committee (Chair 2015- Present) and the American Public Health Association where he serves as governing Councilor for the APHA Podiatry Section.
Dr. Fleischer has been in practice in the Chicago area and actively involved in the training of podiatric surgical residents since 2004. He sees patients at the Scholl Foot & Ankle Center, Advocate Condell Medical Center, and at the internationally recognized Weil Foot & Ankle Institute.
His clinical interests include all aspects of elective and non-elective foot and ankle surgery. His publications, teachings, and research interests focus on musculoskeletal imaging (specifically MRI and ultrasound), evidenced-based medicine, diabetic foot care/limb preservation, and surgical outcomes.
Research
Dr. Adam Fleischer's research interest includes clinical research that explores patient profiles (risk factors) associated with favorable outcomes in elective and non-elective foot surgery. Dr. Fleischer is also interested in foot/ankle and lower extremity therapies that may improve balance and reduce fall risk.
