Christie Bertram is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Butler University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and went on to complete a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a PGY2 Infectious Diseases Residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy. Dr. Bertram’s primary interest areas include antimicrobial stewardship, treatment of multi-drug resistant infections, infections in the immunocompromised and critically ill populations, as well as microbiology and rapid diagnostic testing. She is a member of the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists, and the Infectious Diseases Society of America and is actively involved with Vizient’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee as well as Northwestern Medicine’s system-wide Antimicrobial Stewardship Collaborative. Her research interests include antimicrobial pharmacokinetics in critically ill patients, assessing the impact of penicillin allergy labels on broad-spectrum antibiotic use, and evaluating the impact of rapid diagnostic testing on antimicrobial optimization.
