Katie Cunningham, PharmD, BCPS, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, joined the department in October 2017. Dr. Cunningham obtained her BS in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the UIC College of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY1 residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL and her PGY2 residency in solid organ transplant at the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics in Madison, WI.

Dr. Cunningham joined the solid organ transplant pharmacy team at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in July 2014.  She practices in both the inpatient and outpatient settings and helped develop an ambulatory practice for transplant pharmacists in the abdominal and lung transplant clinics. In July 2016, Dr. Cunningham assumed the role of the PGY2 Residency Program Director for the Solid Organ Transplant Pharmacy Residency Program. She is active in both local and national transplant pharmacy organizations and her research interests include solid organ transplant and patient adherence.
