RFU Pharmacy students triumph in national contest
Rosalind Franklin University pharmacy students William Alegria and Haley Spaulding took first place in the national 2015 Clinical Skills Competition at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists meeting, held Dec. 6-10 in New Orleans.
An interactive, team-based analysis of clinical scenarios for hospital/health-system pharmacists, the competition provides pharmacy students the opportunity to enhance their skills in collaborative practice with physicians in providing direct patient care.
Members of the College of Pharmacy Class of 2016, Alegria and Spaulding competed against 128 teams.
“This success reflects their excellent work as students in the COP,” said Marc S. Abel, PhD, dean of the college. “It is also a testimony to the program and the quality faculty and staff in the college, who dedicate themselves every day to the education and training of outstanding pharmacists.”
