Scholarships
The College of Pharmacy offers scholarships to help students finance their pharmacy education.
College-sponsored Scholarships
The College of Pharmacy Scholarship Committee selects the recipients for these awards and the funds are provided by the College of Pharmacy. These awards are reserved for the incoming P1 class. In order to be eligible, applicants must demonstrate strong academic ability during their undergraduate years, and leadership.
Dean’s Commitment to the Future of Pharmacy
In order to help assure that students are able to participate in the PharmD program regardless of financial need, Dean Marc Abel has pledged a portion of his annual salary to support The Dean’s Commitment to the Future of Pharmacy Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are granted to pharmacy students with an outstanding academic background, a commitment to team-based practice, and qualifying financial need. Founding Dean Gloria Meredith first established this effort in 2011 and Dean Abel is dedicated to its continuation and expansion.
The fund also receives donations from various internal and external benefactors and the proceeds from the annual Scholarship Benefit are dedicated to this fund. These awards are reserved for the P2-P4 year students. Recipients must demonstrate strong academic ability, leadership, and a commitment to team-based practice.
Community Pharmacy Foundation Support
Annual awards have been provided through generous gifts to the College from many organizations and foundations focused on community pharmacy. These awards are reserved for the P2-P4 year students. Recipients must demonstrate strong academic ability, leadership, and a strong interest in community pharmacy practice.
Externally Funded Awards
The college has received ongoing scholarship support from a variety of our educational partners. Their continued generosity has allowed the Scholarship Committee to recognize deserving students every spring with prestigious honors and financial awards. Specific funds are reserved for students who display an exceptional commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, further augmenting RFU’s efforts in these respective areas.
The following were awarded to COP students in spring 2020:
- The Albertsons Companies Scholarship (Jewel-Osco)
- The CVS Health Foundation Scholarship
- Walgreens Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award
- Walgreens Multilingual Scholarship
